Competence of Graduates

Graduates of the German Language Education Study Program have the following abilities, skills, and competencies:

  • As a German teacher who masters the substance of German language and expertise as a German teacher, skilled in applying the basic concepts of science that underpin the field of German language studies, able to use didactics and methodics in German language learning, able to analyze and provide alternative input answers to German language education problems.
  • As a German-speaking Tour Guide who mastered the substance of German language and expertise in tourism.
  • As a translator who masters the linguistic substance of the German language and translation expertise.

Learning Outcomes

Each graduate of the Bachelor Program of the German Language Education Study Program has the following minimum learning outcomes:

  • Attitude

Fear God Almighty and show a religious attitude. Uphold human values in carrying out duties based on religion, morals, and ethics. Contribute to improving the quality of life in society, nation, state, and the advancement of change based on Pancasila. Acting as citizens who are proud and love the country, have nationalism and a sense of responsibility to the state and nation. Respect the diversity of cultures, views, religions and beliefs, as well as the opinions or original findings of others. Cooperation and have social sensitivity and concern for society and the environment. Obey the law and discipline in social and state life. Internalize academic values, norms, and ethics. Have concern in maintaining and caring for personal health and the environment. Demonstrate an attitude of responsibility for work independently; and Internalize the spirit of independence, struggle and entrepreneurship.

  • Knowledge

Mastering the concepts of skills and linguistic elements in German. Mastering the basic linguistic concepts of the German language. Mastering the learning concepts (didactic and methodical) of the German language. Mastering the basic concepts of German language learning research and the development of German language learning. Understand the concept of literature, knowledge of the German state, and its learning. Mastering the concept of German culture and literature and its learning. Mastering entrepreneurial concepts and management in the field of German, especially in the field of language / translation / courses, tourism / office activists.

  • Skills

Special Skills:

Skilled in German both orally and in writing at least at the B1+ language level according to GER. Skilled in analyzing various lingual units in German at the level of phonology, morphology, semantic syntax, pragmatics and discourse appropriately based on relevant analytical approaches and techniques. Skilled in planning, implementing and evaluating German language learning at the upper secondary education level and in non-formal educational institutions by utilizing information and communication technology. Skilled in studying German learning problems that can be used to design creative and innovative learning and apply them in the German language learning process. Skilled in describing data and facts and German culture based on searching for the latest sources using information and communication technology. Able to apply cross-cultural understanding in interactions with native speakers without losing national identity, so as to avoid conflicts, cultural shocks and other negative impacts. Able to produce services and products to solve problems related to language / translation / tourism / office courses by utilizing information and communication technology.

General Skills:

Able to apply logical, critical, systematic, and innovative thinking in the context of the development or implementation of science and technology that pays attention to and applies humanities values in accordance with their field of expertise. Able to show independent, quality, and measurable performance. Able to examine the implications of the development or implementation of science and technology that pays attention to and applies humanities values based on scientific rules, procedures, and ethics in order to produce solutions and ideas, compile scientific descriptions of the results of their studies in the form of a thesis or final project report, and upload them on the university website.
