How to enroll in the German Language Education Department at UNY?

There are three ways to enroll:

SNBP (Merit-based National Selection)

SNBT (Test-based National Selection)

SM (Independent Selection)

 

What is the accreditation of the German Language Education Program currently?

The German Language Education Program is accredited Excellent by BAN-PT. Since 2019, we have also been accredited by ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges, and Universities).

 

What if I have no knowledge of German at all?

No problem. Classes start from the basic level.

Does every student have an academic advisor (DPA)?

Yes, every student has an academic advisor.

 

What degree is obtained after graduation?

The degree obtained by students in the German Language Education department after graduation is Bachelor of Education or S.Pd.

 

What is the difference between the German Language Education and German Literature programs?

The profile of German Language Education graduates is primarily oriented towards education, such as becoming German language teachers in schools.

 

Does the German Language Education program offer internships?

Yes, of course. The German Language Education program offers mandatory internships such as PK (Praktikum Kampus) and Tourism Internship or Translation Internship. Students can also participate in internships offered through government programs such as the Teaching Campus Program.

 

How long does it generally take to complete studies in the German Language Education program?

Students can complete their studies on average within 4 years.

 

Is it necessary to write a Thesis for the completion of the German Language Education program?

Students in the final semester can complete their studies by writing a Thesis or a Non-Thesis Final Project.

 

What are the job prospects for graduates of the German Language Education program?

How many faculty members are there in the German Language Education program?

There are 13 faculty members in the German Language Education program, consisting of 3 Professors, 3 Chief Lecturers, 4 Lecturers, 2 Assistant Lecturers, and 1 Teaching Assistant.

 

What facilities are available to support the learning process at UNY?

At the university level, there are libraries and digital libraries. At the faculty level, there are the Language Training Center building and Performance Hall. At the program level, there are classrooms, tourism laboratories, microteaching labs, thesis examination rooms, discussion rooms, and department libraries.

The average monthly cost of living for students ranges from Rp 400,000.00 to Rp 800,000.00 or Rp 4,000,000.00 to Rp 8,000,000.00 per year.

The average cost of living for students in Yogyakarta is around Rp 1,000,000.00 to Rp 2,000,000.00 per month.
